Gloster Global's History

Gloster Marketing began twenty years ago as a full-service advertising, media, public relations and marketing agency. CEO Michael Gloster built the company using his experience in national-level broadcast marketing and management positions. Since 1990, the company has specialized in developing and importing family-themed artwork from southern Africa for mass market. Gloster Global has brought a unique form – Shona Stone Sculpture – to the American market at an affordable price, and has also developed related products, like jewelry, from the original sculpture designs.

More importantly, by emphasizing fair trade and fair treatment, Gloster Global has helped indigenous artists earn living wages to sustain their families and pursue their craft. The artists’ relationship-themed works are symbolic not just of the couples and families they portray, but also of the kinship of the small cooperative groups in which they are created, and the cooperative spirit Gloster Global hopes to promote.

For nearly fifteen years Michael Gloster and his wife, company COO Victoria Gloster, have worked quietly but very successfully to build personal and business relationships throughout Africa. From grass roots to parliaments, from South Africa and Zimbabwe to Liberia and Sierra Leone, and in many places in between, they have focused Gloster Global’s energy on building African-owned businesses that can participate in the global economy. Opening up the US and other world markets with and on behalf of its African partners, Gloster Global has gained wide recognition for its registered trademark -- SAAFAIR® -- which has come to stand for ”Successful African/American Alliances” and fair treatment. As intended, Gloster Global has helped create prosperous businesses, including a fully vertically integrated international art business based in Zimbabwe, and a fledgling cocoa and coffee business in Sierra Leone. Together with its African partners, Gloster Global’s undertakings have generated millions of dollars for local and international economies. As Gloster Global seeks to strengthen its efforts in Africa, it also continues its endeavors utilizing commercial success to help fund education and health care in African communities, and raising funds for similar causes here in the United States.
